For me, most apps are time savers. I use only basic ones to simplify and track daily tasks. I click on the app, do what I need to, and then get away from it.
Show me a site with books, stories, or movies, though, and I can literally waste hours, except I don’t necessarily feel that time is wasted because I’ve enjoyed myself. Like any other hobby, as long as it doesn’t take over your life and prevent you from doing what you need to do for good health and survival, I don’t see the problem having fun with apps.
How do you feel about apps and also how do you feel about wasted time vs having fun?

I do use a few apps and am trying to give some up. The ones I have kept like Grammarly and Scrivner are great lifesavers for me… entertainment not so much… but Pinterest now that’s fun LOL
I still love checking Facebook and Twitter each day, but I do better if I keep that activity to my laptop rather than on my phone. That way I’m a little more conscious of how much time I’m spending/wasting. Sometimes, it’s great fun; other times, I realize I’ve just been sucked in without really enjoying the experience–kind of like watching bad TV when you lack the energy to do anything else. Ugh.
I admit to spending way too much time on LinkedIn. But I can’t be lumped in with those folks who stare at their cell phones all the time. I don’t use a cell phone.
Sometimes I feel guilty for having fun/wasting time. Social media for instance. Other times, I NEED to waste a little time so I can give my brain a break.
