In the WeWriWa blog hop, writers post 8-10 sentences from one of their books. I’ve been sharing snippets from my paranormal romance Fangs and Fists: Grit. I’m skipping ahead several scenes from last week. The rebels have made a deal with the demon Haylen, but they’re keeping him restrained at the Alpha wolf’s temporary headquarters. When the witch Maddy is injured in a freak accident, they learn that their restraints weren’t keeping Haylen in check at all.
Maddy had stopped moaning and stared at Haylen.
Before their eyes, the bones slid back into place with seemingly no pain to Maddy. Beneath the torn jeans, her flesh healed and the blood evaporated.
“I’ll be damned,” murmured the Alpha.
“You’d better hope not,” Haylen said, his voice just above a whisper. He rose and offered his hand to Maddy, who took it without hesitation.
She stood, a bit shaky, but Zari steadied her and Haylen continued holding her hand until she took a step toward him.
“We tried to stop him, sir,” said a guard who sported a blackened eye.
A second guard who stood nearby, rubbing his jaw, added, “He’s stronger than he looks. He snapped the chains.”
About Fangs and Fists: Grit
(Erotic Paranormal Romance)
Werewolf gladiator Grit faced his own mortality in the arena, only to be resurrected by a demon. Grit now lives a shadowy existence as one of the soulless, remembering only bits and pieces of his former life. Nonetheless, he recognizes evil and knows he must fight for the future of his young son, as well as the rest of the world.
Zari, a vampire warrior, helped Grit escape the tower where he had been imprisoned. She had feelings for Grit when they’d first met, but at the time he had been mated to another wolf. Now that he’s on his own, they’re free to explore their feelings as they fight side by side as part of the rebellion against the demons. In the midst of war, their love grows, but danger is everywhere.
Haylen, the demon who resurrected Grit, offers a bargain that may save or destroy the rebellion. Whatever the outcome, Zari and Grit intend to face it together and explore the once forbidden passion between them.

Love this big time. You definitely caught my attention.
Her reaction is very interesting. So much going on here!
Sounds like their best to restrain him wasn’t good enough–and maybe not necessary at all? Is the demon becoming a good guy?
I wouldn’t be standing around watching this happen. I’d be long gone.
He’s a hard man to stop. What will they try next?
Ew – the description of the bone healing was too good. Shudders.
Tweeted.
