1. Bill (Aussie 39) and Helen (French 35).
2. Hung (VN 35) and Tien (VN 32).
3. Charlie (Brit 40) and Escort (Thanh 35).
*Excerpt:*
About a minute later a soft female voice standing behind him asked;
“Are you Charlie?”
He stood up and the escort wearing a classic pale blue *Ao Dai* dress standing by his chair smiled and extended her hand to shake his.
“Hello,” said Charlie, “good to meet you, what is your name?”
“My name is Thanh, which means bright, but many people in Viet Nam don’t bother with the meaning of their names,” and she smiled at him.
“Please sit down so that we could talk,” started Charlie, “would you like something to drink?”
“No thank you,” said the escort, “maybe later…”
“Your name is the same as the telephone operator, isn’t it?” guessed Charlie.
“I must confess I am that operator, but your proposed adventure sounded too good to miss so I came myself,” she explained and smiled at him.
*And then later:*
Helen came to sit near to him, and smiled, “now tell me really, where did you find Thanh?” she asked.
“Most of which I told you is true. I really did meet her at the Daewoo last Tuesday afternoon, and arranged for her to come with us this weekend,” he confirmed, “I took her to my flat as I can never remember the name of the road off Lieu Dai where my flat is! I asked her to come back to my flat on Friday morning, which I then changed to Thursday night, and she agreed to stay overnight so that we could leave early in the morning.”
“What on earth did you do to ‘er, Charlie. She’s ‘ead over ‘eels in-love with you?” Helen continued.
“I really don’t know why we like one another so much,” admitted Charlie, “and I told Hung that we’re going to meet her mother next week.”
“Where?” Helen continued.
“Tuyen Quang,” he confirmed.
Helen turned her head to look at Bert, “where?”
“It about two hundred kilometers north west of Ha Noi,” Bert said.
“That makes sense,” said Tien, “as she told me she is part ethnic minority, Thai.”
“Well I’ve know Charles for years, and I just hope that he’s going to be very happy with Thanh, who I’m sure will look after him very well,” said Bert.
Helen was still curious;
“What does she do? Someone told me she runs an Escort Agency!”
“She does,” Charlie confirmed, “but she also told me that this was her first and only time she’s been the escort girl!”
*And later still:*
“You’re a hard bargainer!”
“Not at all, I think I got a very good bargain. Wealthy women with her own private income, and very clean sex track record, and a wonderful cook!”
“I do love you, Charlie!”
