by Kate Hill
(Paranormal Romance)
A blazing trail only he can see leads demon hunting biker Starr Johanson to his destined mate. A blessing placed on her family’s ancestral land summons Mysti Wild to the cabin where she’ll meet the man fated to share her life.
Each fears the other will be frightened by magic they don’t understand, but they quickly learn to trust each other, because no one can resist the person they were born to love.
Excerpt:
“Interesting observation, young man.” The three turned to the elderly gentleman with longish gray hair and a trimmed beard staring through the half-open window. He straightened, revealing gardening shears dangling from his gloved hands.
“Great Uncle Ambrose,” Trinity said, sighing and placing a hand over her heart. “You scared the crap out of me.”
Starr grinned. “Kinda took me by surprise, too.”
“Yeah. He’s good at that. Uncle Ambrose, how long have you been out there?” Mysti asked.
“I’ve been pruning for about an hour. It sounds like you’ve had an interesting weekend, Mysti. Hold on. I’ll be right in.”
Moments later, Uncle Ambrose entered the living room. He’d discarded his gardening gloves and offered his hand to Starr, who stood and shook it. Trinity poured another glass of lemonade and offered it to her uncle. He accepted it and took a seat on a wooden chair instead of an upholstered one, probably due to his dirty clothes.
“It sounds like you have an unusual family,” Uncle Ambrose said to Starr.
“You could definitely say that,” Starr admitted.
“Members of our family have certain gifts as well, but not ones that always come in handy for fighting off demons. Way back in our family’s history, we had more of the warrior type,” Uncle Ambrose went on. “In the late 1800s, our ancestors, Ruth and Jude, placed a blessing on our New Hampshire land, and since then, our family has drifted away from supernatural battle. It sounds like your family is still in the thick of it.”
“My family isn’t as conventional as yours, sir,” Starr admitted. “Yeah, several members are my blood relatives, but most of them aren’t. We share another kind of bond, though. Some might say it’s deeper than biological ties.”

Great Uncle Ambrose sounds like a fascinating character
So glad you used “gray” instead of “grey.” I come across too many writers who don’t distinguish between US and UK spelling conventions.
They’re being very open about their supernatural family roots. That shows a high level of trust.
