If used in moderation, social media is fun and a great way to connect with people who enjoy the same things. Personally, I like using Twitter. I enjoy looking at people’s photos, artwork, movie promos, and book covers. If someone follows me, I generally follow back after visiting their page.
The problem with social media is that it’s easy to spend a lot of time there because it is a lot of fun. Also things can get unkind sometimes, and I’m not into that. I’m about promoting what you enjoy rather than bashing what you dislike. I’m also not keen on what’s often one-sided use of social media–someone promoting their product without actually interacting with their friends and followers. I’m not saying you need to spend all day interacting with everyone all the time, but at least show some interest by occasionally liking, sharing, and following others and not just expecting others to follow you, share, and like your posts.
Whether social media is friend or foe depends on a lot of things, including how it’s used and your own mindset when you use it.

“It depends” is the appropriate answer to the blog challenge question. I agree.
