Welcome to the WeWriWa blog hop in which participating writers share 8-10 sentences from their work.
This week’s excerpt picks up where last week’s left off. Trinity has gone to her family’s cabin to meet her soulmate, but her best friend Jeff follows to make sure she’s safe. Trinity doesn’t take kindly to him interfering and asks if he would follow a male buddy to keep him safe during a meeting with his dream woman.
“Fine. Make jokes. I don’t care. Once we meet Mr. Right and he seems like a normal guy, I’ll go.”
She shouldn’t feel guilty about poking fun at him, but she did because she knew he cared about her. She cared about him, too, and he was right. No matter what happened, that would never change.
“What do you say?” he asked. “Just let the two of us meet the guy, and if you give me the word that you’ll be okay, I’m outta here.”
“All right, but don’t act crazy.”
“What do you mean?”

Her last line shows she doesn’t quite trust him to behave. I wonder what she knows about him.
She doesn’t trust him but on the other hand, he worries about her. To be continued!
Oh he is totally going to act crazy and probably jealous too. Lucky girl!
I love that he has no clue about what “act crazy” entails. Kind of clueless, maybe deliberately so? I enjoyed the snippet and am keely anticipating what may happen next!
“What do you mean?” Ha, ha. I bet he knows exactly what she means.
Jeff sounds like a keeper to me.
I’m fully expecting Jeff to break out the old best friend intimidation tactics on this guy.
