Last week my snippet from Trinity and Jeff left off with Trinity wondering why she was thinking so much about Jeff when the Wild family magic had called her to their cabin so she could meet her soulmate.
Inside the cabin, Jeff asks Trinity if she remembers the first time they had gone to there together.
“I mean the first time I came up here with you and your family.”
Trinity held his gaze for a moment. When his lips flicked up in a tender smile, she looked away.
Of course she remembered. His mom had undergone surgery and between being with her and his job, his father had little time to care for Jeff. Her family had gladly stepped in, since Jeff and Trinity were close friends. They were seven years old and it was summertime, so her parents had taken them to the cabin for a couple of weeks. At first Jeff had missed his family and worried a lot about his mother, but Trinity had managed to keep him occupied. They had gone swimming and fishing. Her father had taken them hiking to explore the woods. Even then, she had felt warm and comfortable with Jeff–like he was more than just a friend, but part of her family. In many ways, that was the best summer of her childhood, especially when Jeff’s mother fully recovered.

Lovely snippet, my friend
Nice memories!
flooded with warm summertime memories – a stark contrast to what must be coming, I’ll bet. Well done!
Guessing he’s been in love with her since he was seven LOL. She’s kind of oblivious! Will be interesting to see what happens next…
Good memories. But is feeling like family enough to fall in love?
So many times you cannot see what’s right under your nose. Especially if it’s been around since you were seven. When’s she going to figure it out?
I love stories where childhood friends become lovers! But will she ever see him as a lover? A sweet snippet!
Love reading about their history. I’ll be curious to see who’s finally brave enough to lay all their cards on the table. Great job!
So there’s been something between them since they were seven. I wonder how long it’ll take them to realize it.
Sweet memories. Love the backstory.
It’s hard to think of someone who’s been a friend forever as a soulmate. But remembering good times might help. Nice snippet.
I can see why she’d be reluctant to see Jeff as a prospective soulmate, but who else would be better than someone who has been there the whole time. Come on, realise it, girl!
He sounds like a good and devoted friend who could be more for her. Beautifully written!
Thank you!
She’s been in denial, but she’ll realize her mistake soon!
