It’s time for the WeWriWa blog hop in which participating writers share 8-10 sentences from their work.
This is good timing. I’ve been posting snippets from my upcoming book Trinity and Jeff. I just received cover art from my publisher today. Happy to see it!
My last snippet left off with Trinity and Jeff remembering their first time at her family’s cabin. This week’s snippet skips ahead several scenes, after they have another argument about the possibility of him being her soulmate, and after he returns to tackle a late-night intruder. Finally convinced that he’ll never get through to her, Jeff leaves Trinity alone, and that’s when someone else knocks on her door.
Her pulse quickened and a sensation that was almost one of terror filled her. In her entire life, she’d never felt anything quite like this. She stared into a pair of eyes so dark they were almost black. They belonged to a tall, slender man with a shaved head and features that looked like they’d been razor cut from ivory. He was stunning, frightening, compelling, and clearly he was the one called by her family’s magic. Her destined mate. Nothing else could explain the feeling he inspired. The only thing that had ever come close to this in intensity was the warmth she felt whenever Jeff was around, but even that had never affected her quite like this.
“Ms. Wild?”
She drew a deep breath and took control of herself.

Well, he definitely throws a wrench in the idea of Jeff and Trinity getting together. Or, at least right away.
WOW! This is one exciting snippet. Looking forward to next week!
Whew! Now that’s a first meet. Run away, girl! Run away!
Does she really want a mate who is frightening rather than warm?
Love the new cover, Kate!
That guy would scare me. Yikes! Great cover.
Thank you, Diane! He is scarier than she realizes. 🙂

No, she doesn’t. It doesn’t take her long to realize it. 🙂
Good advice, Nancy! He’s not a nice guy.
Thank you, Charmaine!
He’s not what she was expecting. 🙂
