Last week my excerpt from Trinity and Jeff ended with Trinity meeting a polite but icy man she believes is her soulmate. Skipping ahead a few scenes, she decides to meet him for lunch at a restaurant, since she doesn’t feel comfortable being alone with him yet. Jeff happens to be at the same restaurant and immediately gets bad vibes from Trinity’s “soulmate.” To make Trinity jealous, Jeff openly flirts with his waitress, and now that she knows what it’s like to see Jeff with another woman, Trinity is not happy about it.
Jeff glanced back at Trinity to find her staring at him, her dark eyes blazing. He smiled at her and she drew a deep breath.
At that moment, her date turned to see where her attention had gone and his dark gaze met Jeff’s. Many emotions sparked between the men — none of them good.
“Jeff,” Trinity called. “Come join us.”
He rose and approached to stand over the table.
“Thomas, this is my friend, Jeff. We’ve known each other since we were like three years old.”
“Ah, so he’s like a brother?” Thomas’s gaze traveled over Jeff.

Like a brother . . . yeah, that’s just what Jeff wanted to hear. Nice tension, Kate.
I don’t think Jeff would see it that way. And maybe Trinity wouldn’t either. I’ll be very interested in her reply. Nice tension between the two guys!
Ah, not exactly like a brother LOL. Loved the snippet!
Oh, lots of tension there. Seems she’s more concerned about Jeff than her date.

Way to throw ice water over their little smoldering bit of jealousy there. Fun snippet. Can’t wait to see how Trinity responds.
Interesting complication.
I don’t think Thomas is happy about this. He has eyes and he can see how they feel about each other.
The bad vibes have my curiosity piqued!
I forgot to add–Merry Christmas, Kate!
Like a brother. Not what one of them wanted to hear. Merry Christmas!
I wonder if Thomas knows that this ‘like a brother’ comment is guaranteed to raise Jeff’s hackles, or if it’s a lucky dig.
Ooo, that’s a low blow. I wonder what Trinity’s reply will be.
