It’s the time of week for the WeWriWa blog hop in which participating writers share 8-10 sentences from one of their stories
I’ve been posting snippets from my paranormal romance Trinity and Jeff, which was released yesterday. The last excerpt ended with a confrontation in a restaurant between Jeff, Trinity’s oldest friend who longs to be more, and Thomas, the man she believes is her soulmate sent to her through her family’s magic. Their meeting didn’t go well. This week’s excerpt skips ahead a bit. Jeff has left the restaurant, and Thomas makes it clear that he expects Trinity to end her friendship with him, but she has no intention of giving in to Thomas’s demands.
“I don’t expect you to forget your family and friends,” Thomas said in a smooth voice. “Just one particular friend who seems to think you belong to him.”
“I don’t belong to anyone.” Trinity picked up her purse and stood. “Neither friend nor soulmate. Got that?”
“Darling, you’re upset. Sit down and –”
“Freakin’ right I’m upset. I don’t abandon the people I care about, and if you don’t get that, then maybe this will be the first time a Wild denies the family magic.”

Sounds like Thomas had best mind his p’s and q’s. True friendship is hard to come by, though it puts one in a difficult position when a friend starts developing other feelings and one doesn’t feel the same way.
Well, she definitely put him in his place. Though, I think he needed it.
Nice! She told him. I wonder how sideways things are about to go with this “soulmate”?
I’m glad she put him in his place. No one should tell you who should remain a friend or not.
Well, since I think he’s not actually her soulmate, of course he wouldn’t get her loyalty to Jeff and be jealous of him to boot. This is going to get very heated quickly!
Congratulations on the release. If the snippets are any guide, it’ll do well.
I’m glad she stands up for herself. Beware anyone who wants to seclude you from friends and family.
Red flag alert. Trinity better get her backside outta there right now.
