It’s a new year and the first 52-Week Blog Challenge of 2020. The topic is “time off – vaca or stayca and why.”
This is an easy one for me. Stayca. At home, I have a never-ending list of projects to work on and I could never be bored. I’ve always been a homebody, loving to write, work out, and do household projects. When I was younger, I traveled a little because I knew that I would probably never travel again, first because I don’t really enjoy it and also because at the time I could afford to spend the money.
It was interesting to see different places and it was a good experience, but even then I loved when the vacation ended I could go home. I’ve found that when I return from traveling, I wish I had time to just relax and work on the projects I enjoy most. For me it’s no contest. Stayca will always be my preference.

I have a lot of health issues and very little money, so for me this one is a no-brainer. I think back on what fun road trips were when I was younger, but now the idea seems more stressful than fun. Plus, some highway speeds have gotten beyond ridiculous. I live in Colorado near the Colorado-Wyoming-Nebraska tri-state area. I usually take the frontage road to go to Cheyenne but accidentally took the on-ramp to I-80 on one occasion. I got off on the next exit but was kind of shaken up. The speed limit on that road is 80 miles an hour, which I think is completely insane.
