Trinity and Jeff (Wild Witches of Beaver Bay)
by Kate Hill
(Paranormal Romance)
Blurb
Denying her love for her childhood friend, Jeff, Trinity visits her family’s ancestral land, believing the Wild family magic has called her there to meet her soulmate. Instead she finds danger at every turn, but she won’t have to face it alone.
Jeff has loved Trinity his whole life, but settled for friendship after she broke his heart on prom night. Now this soldier turned firefighter faces the supernatural to protect Trinity and convince her once and for all that they belong together.
Excerpt:
“Greco here,” Jeff said into his cell phone. As a firefighter, he was accustomed to waking quickly on little sleep, but he knew he sounded groggy. He had had trouble sleeping last night, so after leaving Trinity, he’d checked into a nearby motel and decided to get some rest. It felt weird doing something that lazy, but he was on vacation. If he couldn’t be with the one he loved, he could at least try to relax. He’d only shut his eyes for what seemed like ten minutes before his phone buzzed.
“You left me a note? That’s it?”
“Trin.” Jeff rolled onto his back, closed his eyes and scrubbed a hand over his face. “What did you expect me to do? I told you I understand about the destined love thing and that I wouldn’t interfere.”

Uh oh. This sounds like it could be the kind of message that should only be delivered in person, not in a note.
Oooh – someone’s in trouble.
Tweeted.
I get a different vibe. It sounds like the heroine’s being unreasonable and deliberately taking offense.
Her reaction is very interesting
It sounds to me like I might be on his side more than hers. Guess I’ll have to read the book to see how fair that is. 😉
Well… I can’t decide whose side I’m on here. 😉
Hmm, sounds like family magic and destined love is a little cloudy. It will be interesting to see how it works out.
Hmm. I’m wondering if it’s significant she’s named after the project that set off the first atomic bomb?
