Hello and welcome to the WeWriWa blog hop, in which writers share 8-10 sentences from one of their stories.
This week’s snippet is from my latest release, Snake Charmer (Confessions 1).
“Man.” I gaze at him with a half-smile. “You’re something.” He doesn’t look convinced and rises from bed. Is it possible he has no idea how hot he is?
“I’d better get some sleep. I have an audition tomorrow and I still have to find the club.” He leaves the bed and heads toward the door.
“Hang on. You want to sleep on the couch?”
About Snake Charmer
(M/M Erotic Paranormal Romance)
Skye: I’m a lone wolf, but I’ve left the forest to fight against demons who’ve taken over the world. Right now I’m with a pack in Baltimore, but their alpha respects my ways. I take assignments from him, but I live alone and fight alone — until the night I’m attacked by a swarm of bat demons and a hot little snake dancer jumps in to back me up. For me, it’s lust at first sight, but it’s more than that. I think this adorable little tough guy is my mate, even though he’s not a wolf.
Erik: I’m called Snake Charmer. Dancer. Contortionist. Spirit twin to an alien serpent who has always been my protector. My life has been a series of horrors with some beautiful experiences tossed in. I’ve learned to be independent, especially after my best friend and I were brutalized in an attack that left her dead. Now I’m out for revenge, and it’s brought me to Maryland, directly into the path of a gorgeous werewolf who makes me feel things I never dreamed of. It can’t last, though, and nothing, not even desire this deep, will come between me and my vendetta.
Warning: While set in a futuristic paranormal reality, Snake Charmer includes references to previous child abuse, rape, and murder that may be triggers to some readers.

I’m curious why he just wouldn’t stay in the bed.
Not in her bed. That says a lot about her boundaries. Love her strong character and the fact that she doesn’t just kick him out. Looking forward to another great read, Kate!
Hmm, sounds like one of them is in it for the lust, and the other has already developed a strong affection? Will be interesting to see how it all plays out. 🙂 Good snippet!
Enjoyed the snippet and the book sounds really good!
Interesting, but I can’t help but suspect the couch offer is a smokescreen for sleeping somewhere else.
I’m a little confused (doesn’t take much these days LOL) Are they 2 guys or a girl & a guy? It sounded like the aftermath of wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am. I’m sure in the next few paragraphs that will all be cleared up. I want to read more.
I have a feeling no one will be sleeping on that couch! Nice snippet, I can’t wait to read more.
Your feeling is right, Brittany!
No problem, Diane. It’s two men.
Yes, Erik is dealing with some issues.
Thank you, Veronica!
Thank you, Teresa! It’s a little unexpected for both of them, but Skye is ready to go after what he wants.
Thank you, Nancy! Both characters are male.
Erik is dealing with a lot right now, but Skye can be convincing!
I like the offer of the couch, but is that really going to be the case?
