I haven’t done very well these past few months with keeping up with blogging, but I finally have a release date for Warrior Priest. That one has taken quite a while to reach the new release stage, and I can’t believe it’s only a little over a month away.
I posted a few excerpts from Warrior Priest last year, but here’s another. 🙂 In this scene, the hero, Jade, has been injured. His friend, Asa, is treating him. It’s the first time Selena meets Asa.
Thank you for stopping by!
Jade bristled. He loved Asa, but the man knew how to rile him and often took pleasure in it. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Only that if she’s been able to handle you, injured or not, she has my respect. Can you believe, Selena, that he and his good friend Shayne are probably the worst patients I’ve ever treated? Stubborn. Thick-headed. At least Shayne has a sense of humor, though. This one is usually so God-loving miserable and a complete pain in the posterior.”
“Asa was absent when they taught bedside manner,” Jade said.
Warrior Priest
(Science Fiction Romance)
What happens when a warrior priest from a strict religion meets a free-spirited priestess from a new age commune?
Jade and Selena are as different as two people can be, but to facilitate an alliance between their worlds, they engage in a cultural exchange. With their galaxy in danger from a planet that wants to conquer or destroy all others, they realize the importance of their assignment, but it is difficult for a warrior priest and a nonviolent priestess to understand each other.
Selena is both attracted and appalled by his old school masculinity, and Jade is tempted to break his vow of celibacy until marriage due to his powerful desire for her. Will this unlikely pair not only find common ground, but unconditional love?
Warrior Priest is available for pre-order at  Amazon / Apple Books / Barnes & Noble / kobo /  Smashwords

These two sound like they thrive to get on each other’s nerves.
Love that last line. LOL Shows great friendship.
It was confusing to me to jump right in with all these characters but I re-read the snippet and did enjoy the exchange. (Obviously I need more tea today!) I always think of Jade as a female name so I was confused there too BUT I know it can be regarded as a unisex name so…congratulations on the upcoming release date. The plot sounds compelling!
They really do, Jessica. Selena isn’t sure how to take them at first. 🙂
Thank you, Diane! Underneath all the ribbing, they really are good friends. 🙂
This excerpt was plucked right from the middle, Veronica. It’s funny with unisex names we generally think male or female first, depending on who we’ve met in real life. 🙂 Thank you!
It’s a fun snippet and a great illustration of the relationship between the two men.
You’ve set the stage for some interesting fireworks.
Welcome, Kate! It’s good to read you again. 🙂 I remember your earlier excerpts from this ms. Congrats on getting it ready for release! 🙂 Great chemistry between these two friends. 🙂
Thank you, Ed!
Thank you, Teresa! This one took quite a while. I’m not fast with my indie books, but like a lot of people I really got sidetracked this past year or so.
I get the impression that they might be good friends. Congratulations on your upcoming release.
