I’m continued the scene from last week. Selena and Jade are at a refugee camp on his home planet, and finally getting a little more personal.
Thank you for visiting!
Deciding to change the subject, Selena glanced toward the creek. “Do you like to swim?”
“Not right now. Selena, come on. It’s getting late.”
“Then go to bed if you want to.” She slipped off her sandals and unwrapped her robe.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Jade turned his head, visibly clenching his teeth and curling his hands into fists at his sides. “What’s the point of this, Selena?”
That’s my 10 sentences, but if you’d like a bit more, read on. 🙂
“It’s called going for a swim. Like most normal people do in hot, humid weather.”
She pulled off her loose pants and headed toward the creek, wearing her strapless bra and under shorts.
“Five minutes, and then we’re going.”
“Sir, yes, sir!” She marched into the water. It was warmer than she’d hoped, but still pleasant.
“Aren’t you allowed to swim?” she called from the creek.
“Yes, we’re allowed to swim. We’re trained to swim, but not with half-naked women.
Warrior Priest
(Science Fiction Romance)
What happens when a warrior priest from a strict religion meets a free-spirited priestess from a new age commune?
Jade and Selena are as different as two people can be, but to facilitate an alliance between their worlds, they engage in a cultural exchange. With their galaxy in danger from a planet that wants to conquer or destroy all others, they realize the importance of their assignment, but it is difficult for a warrior priest and a nonviolent priestess to understand each other.
Selena is both attracted and appalled by his old school masculinity, and Jade is tempted to break his vow of celibacy until marriage due to his powerful desire for her. Will this unlikely pair not only find common ground, but unconditional love?
Warrior Priest is available for pre-order at Amazon / Apple Books / Barnes & Noble / kobo / Smashwords

Hmm, I wonder if she can convince him to join her in the water. Nice snippet!
I have a feeling he might end up in the water on some pretext or other! Enjoyed the scene – I like her spirit and I can feel his exasperation.
I enjoyed this scene. They do seem very different.
Haha! Not with half-naked women. Love it!
A good visual reading this–his clenched fists. I think he protests too much. 🙂
I’m hoping he might join her. lol We’ll see.
We’ll see if he’s able to bend his upbringing in light of her differences. And my apologies for taking so long to make the rounds.
They’re both going to question certain beliefs before the end of the story. 🙂 Thank you for commenting!
She’s pretty convincing. Thank you for posting, Karen! 🙂
He’s definitely fighting the attraction, Teresa! Thank you!
Thank you very much, Elaine!
Thank you, Veronica! Yes, he ends up doing what he really wants to do, and that’s join her. 🙂
Hi, Jessica! Thank you! She doesn’t give up easily.
