This week my excerpt from Warrior Priest (science fiction romance) starts off where last week’s left off. Selena is trying to convince Jade to go swimming with her.
Thank you for stopping by!
“If it’s my lack of clothes that’s the problem, I can put them back on.”
“Good idea. Put them on and let’s go back.”
“Do you mean to tell me that you had no intention of going for a swim after your workout? Why else would you come down here with a towel?”
He shook his head and pulled off his tunic again. Clearly irritated, he removed his boots and socks and strode toward the water. He plowed in, his eyes flashing.
“Happy now?” He glowered.
That’s 10 sentences, but here’s a bit more, if you’d like to read it.
“Yes.”
“Good. I’m not.”
“Are you ever?” She swept her hair behind her ears and walked toward him, her heartbeat quickening.
She probably shouldn’t have goaded him into this—truly she hadn’t expected him to give in and join her. Now that he had, she wasn’t going to miss the opportunity to get to know him better.
Warrior Priest
(Science Fiction Romance)
What happens when a warrior priest from a strict religion meets a free-spirited priestess from a new age commune?
Jade and Selena are as different as two people can be, but to facilitate an alliance between their worlds, they engage in a cultural exchange. With their galaxy in danger from a planet that wants to conquer or destroy all others, they realize the importance of their assignment, but it is difficult for a warrior priest and a nonviolent priestess to understand each other.
Selena is both attracted and appalled by his old school masculinity, and Jade is tempted to break his vow of celibacy until marriage due to his powerful desire for her. Will this unlikely pair not only find common ground, but unconditional love?
Warrior Priest is available for pre-order at Amazon / Apple Books / Barnes & Noble / kobo / Smashwords

I’m surprised she got him to go in the water. I wonder what else she can convince him to do.
She’s got him wrapped around her little finger and neither of them know it yet.
I’m looking forward to her “getting to know him better,” and whatever that entails. 🙂 Great scene!
It doesn’t seem as if he’s ever happy. I’m guessing he’s got a lot of conflicted confusing emotions right now! Great snippet!
I LOLed when she said, “Are you ever?”
Great snippet, Kate! Shows how persuasive/manipulative she can be.
Even a warrior priest succumbs when a naked woman lures him into the water! It shows that he’s human, as well as a priest.
I’m sure they’ll eventually get to know each other a lot better, LOL.
I bet this is going to make some waves! Good ones too, unless I miss my guess. She’ll make sure of it! 🙂 Great snippet!
