I held up a finger. “We are not friends with benefits.”
No matter how attracted to him I was, getting involved with someone like Rafe was a bad idea. Worse than a bad idea. It would be downright disastrous.
He nodded. “What’s the next rule?”
I narrowed my eyes. He’d agreed to that one so quickly it was almost insulting. I held up the next finger. “You are not in charge of my she-quest. I’m calling the shots.”
He folded his arms.
“These are non-negotiable,” I reminded him.
“Fine. I’m merely here as a consultant. Go on.”
I held up the third finger. “You need to be more forthcoming with information. A simple ‘don’t make a trade with the Sea Fae unless you want to forfeit your life’ would have gone a long way.”
“Understood. That all?”
“For now.”
He held up a finger. “No.” He held up a second and a third. “Yes, yes.”
