Excerpt from Through My Heart
“Your senses are heightened now. You’ll see, hear, smell, and feel things differently than you did as a mortal. Some things will be stronger, and others far less potent. This life can be beautiful for someone like you, Anna. For now, rest. It’s better for us to sleep by day. I’ll be back soon.”
He covered my mouth in a gentle kiss. Closing my eyes, I slid my arms around his neck. He held me tighter and deepened the kiss. The pressure of his cool, firm lips against mine, the rhythm of his tongue dancing with mine, rekindled our passion from the previous night.
My newly-formed fangs ached. I longed to taste his blood again. I nipped his lower lip and tasted his intoxicating elixir. He groaned and lightly pricked my tongue with his fangs. Whimpering with pleasure, I clung to him tighter.
