Weekly Movie Recommendation–Always short so you can get right to the movie.
Title: Victor Frankenstein (2015)
Summary: Victor Frankenstein is a fairly loose adaptation of Frankenstein by Mary Shelly.
What I Liked: Although Frankenstein is one of my favorite books, I don’t mind if a story strays from the source material. I loved Victor Frankenstein. Victor and Igor had great chemistry and a love/hate relationship. The main characters were well developed and the secondary characters also worked well within the story. The obsessed detective, Igor’s love interest, Victor’s cruel father, and a twisted rich benefactor helped make this an exciting drama. This is probably the first time I’ve felt anything except total disgust for Victor Frankenstein and the first time the monster had no apparent redeeming qualities. Frankenstein was still self-centered and unhinged, but the hint of humor and insecurity in his personality made him more empathetic than in other versions of the story, including the original.
